RFID Technology Explained

Salik uses advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to provide seamless toll collection across Dubai's road network. This system eliminates the need to stop at toll plazas, reducing traffic congestion and travel time.

When you drive through a Salik gate, an overhead antenna detects the RFID tag mounted on your windshield. The system automatically deducts the toll fee from your pre-paid account, allowing you to pass through without stopping.

RFID Tag

The Salik tag is a small electronic device that contains a unique identifier linked to your account. It's mounted behind your windshield where it's easily detectable by the toll gate antennas.

Detection System

Overhead antennas at each toll gate emit radio waves that activate the RFID tag in your vehicle. The tag then transmits its unique identifier back to the system.
